M.A. Korolev is active in international activities. In 1964-1968 he was a permanent participant of the meetings of the Algorithmic Languages Group of the Academies of Sciences of the CMEA countries. From 1972 to 1985 he was the deputy head of the delegation of the country in the CMEA Standing Commission on Cooperation in Statistics, and from 1986 to 1989 he was the head of the delegation. At many meetings of the Commission he was its chairman. Since 1976 he was a representative of the country in the United Nations Statistical Commission. He was elected the vice- chairman of the Commission (1976-1979 and 1989 - 1991) and was its chairman in 1979-1981. From 1981 to 1989 he was a member of the UN Statistical Commission Working Group on International Statistical Programmes and Coordination. Since 1974 he has been participating in the work of the Conference of European Statisticians of the UN Economic Commission for Europe and since 1981 in the work of the International Statistical Institute. From 1987 to 1991 he was elected the member of the Council of this Institute. Since 1992 he is the member of the Council of the Heads of Statistical Services of the CIS and participant of all its meetings. Cooperation with statistical bodies of many countries and international organizations facilitated the transition of the CIS countries to the world statistical standards.
