On 12 September 2011 there was the 80th birthday of Mikhail Antonovitch
Korolev, Chairman of the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS,
Doctor of Economic Sciences, Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation,
Professor, Academician of the International Academy of Informatics,
ordinary member of the International Statistical Institute.
His talented and many-sided activities in home science contributed to progress in such most important fields of it as new information technologies, statistics, algorithmization.
He is the author of a number of scientific themes which are up to day are the nucleus of the training process of the Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics, as well as a number of other higher educational establishments.
First algorithmic languages, first data bases, first statistical issues on CD-ROM… He always makes achievements in the field which he is dealing with.
He is an outstanding scientist, experienced leader, diplomat. These are only some of the roles of this well-known person.
